1857 50C Liberty Seated Half Dollar

The 1857 Half dollar is part of a series of Liberty Seated half dollar coins struck from 1839-1866.

Obverse: Lady liberty is seated on a rock bearing a shield with the word LIBERTY. 13 Stars frame the periphery with the date at the bottom middle under the rock.
Reverse: The heraldic eagle is centered in the design with the words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and HALF DOL. around the periphery.
